About the area
Perhaps a confusing term for non-Londoners, the ‘City’ refers to the area housing London’s major business and financial operations. It also features some of the oldest places in London, such as St Paul’s Cathedral and the Billingsgate Roman baths. In the City, you’re not only likely to be close to your office, you’ll also have access to restaurants, private members’ clubs, and fitness centres all providing professionals from all industries with their services.
There is no doubt about the fact that London is a home for many tourists. People come here to enjoy the historic sights known all over the world. The majority of the attractions of the ancient city is located in its central part: Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, St. Paul's Cathedral, British Museum, etc.
Because of its tourist attractiveness, it is rather hard to find a quiet place to spend your spare time in the City of London. However, if you walk some distance from the main attractions, it is possible to find rather cosy cafes and restaurants.
